Financial Controller

Remote role in Moldova

As a Financial Controller, your contribution will be critical to the accounting team by analyzing and reconciling financial data to provide the best business solutions for processes, by following and monitoring the accounting and finance departments' policies and procedures.

What will you do:

  • Support the business decision makers by developing, implementing and follow-up the appropriate business models, monitoring and analysis;
  • Cost-Benefit management: Cost- Revenue Analysis;
  • Assure internal control requirements;

Revenue and COGS overview

  • Preparation and Analysis of Month-End Company Revenue, Cost of Sales and Direct Expense Accruals;
  • Understanding and Maintaining Control over Drivers and Components of Variable Costs of Sale;
  • Understanding and reviewing drivers and components of direct O/H expenditures;

Monthly financial reporting and analysis

  • Performing month-end analysis of Company consolidated gross margin per business unit;
  • Preforming reconciliations for month end purposes based on supporting documents and assessing their correctness;
  • Maintaining and defining business units (BU) definitions and key  allocations for indirect expenses and provide training and feedback for proper implementation across the department;
  • Prepares the consolidated management financial reporting package by BU, including the relevant KPIs for performance monitoring, using the Management Reporting tool;
  • Regulatory reporting – standardizing the system to obtain them on regular basis in due time for submission;
  • Budget – creates, implement and maintain the budgeting in coordination with the BO and standardize the process. Prepares and monitor the budget of the Company by BU / reporting and documenting variances vs actual performance / discussing with BO and presenting to top management;

Internal control

  • Support the development and documentation of policies, controls and business processes ensuring they operate effectively and efficiently;
  • Providing proactive, cross-functional support between finance, SW, HR, administrative and operations staff;
  • Reviewing reconciliation and offering support for identifying and preparing proposals for corrective measures in case of errors and/or deviations from appropriate accounting treatment;
  • Assure compliance with the company’s accounting, tax reporting, regulatory reporting and management reporting policy;
  • Recognizes and acts on inconsistencies in data or results and escalates, follow-up and obtain resolution for unusual problems;
  • Other projects upon management request;

What we are looking for:

Must haves:

  • 5 years of experience in a financial field;
  • Good understanding of business models;
  • Good English communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel;
  • Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting;

Nice to have:

  • Strong control orientation and attention to detail;
  • Problem Solving skills;
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • ACCA certification;
