For our latest Nobel book club meeting, we read a young adult contemporary fiction novel, “They Both Die at the End”, by bestselling author Adam Silvera.

Set in an alternate dystopian world where individuals receive a call informing them of their impending death on the same day, this book takes a unique premise to set the stage for a profound exploration of mortality, friendship, love, and the human experience. The story follows two main characters, Mateo and Rufus, who, upon receiving their death calls, decide to spend their last day together, forming an unexpected bond as they navigate the complexities of their final day.

We debated about the writing style of the book, the plot line, the cast of characters, the upcoming movie adaptation of this book and many more interesting bookish topics.

We also picked the next read on our list, which will this time be a contemporary romance – “Cleopatra and Frankenstein” by Coco Mellors.
